The Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) conducts Meghalaya Civil Services (MCS) Examination for the recruitment of officers in Meghalaya State Government. The commission conducts examination in three stages; i.e. Prelims, Mains and Interview. The finally selected candidates get appointment to work with the government of state in various posts and services. Here are exclusive details about the MCS Exam. Candidates who have successfully completed a Bachelor's degree programme from any recognized university are eligible to apply for MCS Exam.
MCS Prelims Exam Pattern
The MCS Exam comprises two mandatory papers, namely Paper I and Paper II. Each paper consists of multiple-choice questions and carries a weightage of 200 marks, with a duration of 2 hours for each paper. It’s important to note that the prelims exam is considered a qualifying paper.
Paper I encompasses General Studies, covering questions related to Current Events, History of India and the Indian National Movement, Indian and World Geography, Indian Polity and Governance, Economic and Social Development, General issues on Environmental Ecology, Biodiversity, and Climate Change, along with General Science. On the other hand, Paper II includes questions on General English, Aptitude, and Mental Ability.
MCS Mains Exam Pattern
The MPSC Meghalaya Mains Exam consists of eight papers, which include two optional papers. This exam follows a descriptive format.
