North Eastern Institute Of Ayurveda & Homoeopathy (NEIAH)
The Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, has established the autonomous North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda & Homoeopathy (NEIAH), Shillong, Meghalaya. The institute was built at Mawdiangdiang, Shillong, Meghalaya, next to the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS).
At its meeting on March 27, 2008, the Union Cabinet gave its approval to the establishment of the North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda & Homoeopathy in Shillong, intending to offer Ayurvedic and Homoeopathic medicine to the people of Sikkim and the Ne region. On December 22, 2016, in August, Sh. Shripad Yesso Naik, Hon. Ble Minister of State (IC), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, formally opened the institute.
NEIAH Courses
The Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) and Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) degree programs in Ayurveda and Homoeopathy are offered by the institute, respectively, and last five and a half years. The Governments of India and Meghalaya have approved the full-time, regular basis of the courses by the regulations of their respective councils (CCIM and CCH, respectively). The North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, is a Central University that is affiliated with both courses.

Admission to the BAMS and BHMS courses at the North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Homoeopathy is determined by the student's
NEET UG score.
