IIM Shillong

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong has been set up with a vision of providing good quality management education and research in the North Eastern region of India. The decision of coming up with an Indian Institute of Management in the North East was unanimously taken by the Union Minister of Human Resource Development along with the Chief Ministers of the North Eastern States in the Review Meeting held at Shillong during June 2004. Shillong was drafted as the permanent location for the institute after consultation between the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DONER) and the Chief Ministers of States of the region.

Located in the green contours of North Eastern part of the country, IIM Shillong which commenced operations in 2008, remains committed to its goal of excellence in management education and research so as to evolve into a nationally and internationally recognized educational institution. Besides high quality standards and academic rigor, which are considered as the hallmark of an IIM, in IIM Shillong there is also emphasis on the ever growing significance of sustainable development and business practices. The Institute strives to impart to its students ethical values, compassionate behaviour, and concern for society.

IIM Shillong Programs

Post Graduate Program in Management (PGP)

The two year, full time, residential Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) programme is designed to help in imbibing a holistic approach towards solving business and management problems.The objective of this programme is to develop thought leaders for an economically and ecologically sustainable society.

To apply for admission to the Post Graduate Program in Management (PGP) a candidate must qualify the Common Admission Test conducted by the Indian Institute of Managements.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA)

PGPEx- MBIC

The PGPEx- MBIC (Post Graduate Program for Executives Managing Business in India and China) is a 14 months Intensive program offered by Indian Institute of Management (IIM). The Executive Management Program aims at equipping the participants with adequate knowledge and business skills for managing businesses in India and China, and also enabling them to operate at strategic levels with a global outlook by synergizing all functional areas of Management. PGPEx- Managing Business in India and China (MBIC) is an intensive 14 months full time residential course for Executives with prior industry experience and entrepreneurs.

Eligibility

PGPEx-(MBIC) program is designed for working executives from reputed organizations operating out of emerging economies. All the applicants must have at least a bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognized University. CAT scores and / or GMAT (Valid score since the last three years) scores will be required. Minimum 5yrs of experience is required. Appropriate relaxations may be granted for candidates with strong managerial/supervisory experience.

Fellow Program in Management (FPM)

The Fellow Program in Management (FPM) is a four year doctoral level program of IIM Shillong. Through the program the Institute aims to develop a cadre of management thought leaders who are willing to commit themselves to strive for managerial excellence and such values for a Sustainable world.The programme is committed to train individuals who will excel in their respective area as educators and produce high quality research through publication of quality work of international standard.

Eligibility

A Masters’ degree or its equivalent in any discipline with minimum 60% aggregate marks for General Candidates, 55% (Engineering students) or 50% (non-engineering students) aggregate marks for SC/ST Candidates or equivalent grade point average. A 4 year Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 6.5 CGPA or equivalent for Engineering students.Secondary and Higher Secondary Examination with minimum 60% aggregate marks for General Candidates. 50% aggregate marks for SC/ST Candidates. Any professional qualifications such as CA, ICWA/ICAI and CS with B.Com / degree.
